St. James' church is in a benefice that also includes Christ Church in Lichfield. The Vicar operates in both churches and, although we each organise our own events and services, we are each invited to share in the events of the other. Take a look at the Christ Church website to find out what they're up to.
Longdon is an ancient village, much of the land having been owned in centuries past by wealthy landowners including the Marquis of Anglesey. In the late 1960s and early 1970s some of this land was sold for housing and expanding the villages of Longdon, Upper Longdon and Longdon Green. There are many village activities and the following link will take you to the village web site - www.longdon-staffs.info.
There is an excellent Church of England primary school in Longdon, St. James' Primary Academy, and the following link will take you to its web site - www.st-james.staffs.sch.uk.  There is more on our 'School' page in this website.
Lichfield Cathedral School also has a site for their pre-prep department almost opposite the church. They also hold events and services in St. James' and we are pleased to have very good relations with them.
St. James’ church is located on the A51, approximately halfway between Lichfield and Rugeley, just on the South side of the village of Longdon and on the East side of the road. The church is set back, but the lych gate is clearly visible. The Post Code is WS15 4PS. The OS reference is SK 082141.
