Longdon is an ancient village but with lots of new housing built in the late 1960s and early 1970s. There are many village activities and the following link will take you to the village web site -
There is an excellent church school in Longdon and the following link will take you to its web site - St. James’ church is located on the A51, approximately halfway between Lichfield and Rugeley, just on the South side of the village of Longdon and on the East side of the road. The church is set back, but the lych gate is clearly visible.

Lych gate

The lych gate dates from 1897. It was made by local craftsmen and commemorates the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria
